Attention: Volunteering Opportunites

Hello! I am receiving many inquiries into volunteering in Ladakh this year and thank you for writing to us!

At the moment we are busy planning and fundraising for some reading rooms in other areas of the Himalayan region. It looks like we’ll require some talented people with art and language skills September onwards.

So if you are interested, please email avalokitesvaratrust@avalokitesvaratrust.org with the subject: Volunteer 2016 and I shall send you a volunteer form if we are interested in taking it further. It’s difficult to reply to each individual, so please understand that we shall be in touch on a suitability and availability basis.

We also may require volunteers with a design or architectural background. More news on that soon.

Thank you!

P.S. The best and preferred way to be in touch is via email

LITTLE BUDDHAS IN THE WOODS

Little Buddhas in the woods

Little Buddhas in the woods

On a magical sunny day, in the month of August (2015), we decided to spend a day with the young monks of  the Chemdey Monastery in the village of Sakti. Our friends, artist, Abhishek Singh, musician and drum-jammer Kumi Masunaga and her lovely daughter Aya, came with us to share their talents, their skills and to spread joy! We were also accompanied by my little daughter Samira, my husband, our Ladakhi friends and Sushil, a Mumbai-based photographer who captured some glorious moments!

The young monks from Chemdey Gonpa school participated in ice-breaking musical activities that Kumi had designed for them. Abhishek introduced them to a few art activities, took them through the process of creating their group artwork and showed them stunning visuals from his comic book. Aya demonstrated how to ‘hula-hoop’! We also set up a book corner in the school.

The young monks were keen to learn and listened carefully to the process, enjoyed drawing and colouring, asked questions and at the end, proudly exhibited their artwork in the woods!

Kumi is a Japanese percussionist and a drum circle facilitator who lives in Hong Kong with over fifteen years of performing, teaching, and facilitating experience. She has worked with a range of ages and cultural backgrounds, designing, planning and executing programmes. For more- www.drum-jam.com

Aya is natural performer. She sings, dances and has lead her “Circle Game” playshop for groups of children at events. She has acted in youth musicals, theatre play and some TV commercials in Hong Kong. She speaks English, Japanese and basic Cantonese and Mandarin. Here engagement with the children we visited, has been both endearing very valuable!

Abhishek Singh is artist, animation film-maker and graphic novelist who currently lives between his studios in Brooklyn, New York and Mumbai. Whenever possible he retreats for a meditation trek in the Himalayas. For more – www.abhishekartstore.com

Avalokitesvara Trust creates reading rooms for children so for International Book Giving Day , we decided to start a book-collection drive. We received an incredible response from all over India. Books were carefully chosen, ordered and shipped to Dharamsala for the young readers of Norling Creche & Kindergarten. We are happy to have enhanced their little library with good quality books. To have played a role in encouraging the joy of reading and bringing smiles to their faces!

We got together to open packages of delightful books and celebrate International Book Giving Day at the Norling creche and kindergarten. A group of 15 volunteers, aged 8 to 10 years were very eager to create a new library upstairs. They happily carried all the old books and categorised them into small, medium and large books. We had a little contest to see which group ( red, green, yellow, blue, white colours of the prayer flags) could count the most books in the least time. It was chao tic and so much fun!! And they finished counting the books in 9 minutes (they’d decided on 15 minutes as the target) After this exercise, they realised that their existing books needed to be categorised into levels and broader subjects. So we created colour codes for levels of reading, for Tibetan, science and for teacher reading material. After four hours of activity we finally displayed all the new additions on to the empty shelves.

The next day, we played a few games. An improvisation of ‘Simon says’, became ‘Norbu says, Sangmo says..’ and the library room was filled with laughter! To calm everyone down, we sat in a circle and concentrated on our breathing. This wasn’t any easy task as a few of them were curious to know what was to follow but we managed to bring back our focus and recollect the activities of the previous session and the task at hand. Setting up a library is no small job and the children once again, tidied up the piles of old books. After all this work, they had a tea break and then finally, chose a book each and sat in a corner or lay on their tummies to immerse themselves in their new book collection. It was very satisfying to see them enjoying the books with quiet rapture. We added a few finishing touches and called it a day by taking a group of books for the little ones downstairs to create a small toddler library. Now that we’re ready, we’ll be inviting ALL the children from ALL the classes to their new reading rooms. We can’t wait!!

Wanted Dead Or A Wild Demo And Free Spin Guide For Australians

Online slot reviews can help Australian players understand a game before deciding whether to play for entertainment. That is especially useful for a title such as Wanted Dead or a Wild, a high-volatility release from Hacksaw Gaming with a distinctive Western-inspired presentation, dramatic bonus features, and a large potential win range. Learn more about wanted-dead-or-a-wild-demo-au.com.

Searches for “motor racing slots free spins no deposit” often combine several different interests: themed reels, promotional spins, and the chance to try a game without depositing. These offers are never automatic, however. Availability, eligibility, wagering conditions, and local access can vary between websites, so a free browser demo is a practical first step.

The subject also sits alongside a very different kind of access initiative. Avalokiteśvara Trust supports reading rooms, book drives, and creative learning in Himalayan communities. Its reading room story shows how access to books can shape long-term opportunities, a useful reminder that digital entertainment should remain separate from charitable giving and educational priorities.

Understanding Wanted Dead Or A Wild

Wanted Dead or a Wild is built around a cinematic outlaw theme rather than a traditional fruit-machine layout. Hacksaw Gaming is known for visually bold online slots, and this release uses animated symbols, escalating suspense, and bonus-round presentation to make individual spins feel like part of a larger sequence.

The title is generally associated with high volatility. That means winning sessions may be less frequent than in a low-volatility game, while individual outcomes can be considerably larger. Volatility is not a promise of profit, and a high advertised maximum win does not make a result more likely.

A proper review should give Australian readers the basic specifications in one place. The wanted-dead-or-wild-demo-au.com review presents the browser demo, game mechanics, RTP information, volatility description, bonus details, and key advantages and disadvantages. Players should still check the displayed game version and the operator’s own terms before relying on any specification.

What A Free Demo Can Show

A no-deposit demo lets a visitor use virtual credits rather than staking money. It can show the reel layout, symbol behaviour, animation speed, sound design, and the way bonus triggers appear. This is particularly useful for a volatile title because a short trial can demonstrate how long losing sequences may feel without creating a financial loss.

The demo cannot reproduce every part of real-money play. It does not show whether a particular operator accepts an Australian customer, how withdrawals are processed, or whether a promotional offer has a minimum deposit or wagering requirement. Free spins can also be restricted by game, stake size, expiry date, or maximum eligible winnings.

Useful Demo Checks

  • Confirm the game title, developer, RTP and volatility information.
  • Test the interface on a phone and desktop connection.
  • Read the bonus explanation rather than relying on promotional graphics.
  • Check whether the demo uses virtual funds and does not request a deposit.
  • Compare the displayed rules with the operator’s current terms.

The phrase “free spins no deposit” should therefore be treated as a description of a possible promotion, not a guarantee. A reputable review can explain where a demo ends and where a real-money offer begins, helping readers distinguish game research from advertising language.

Australian Rules And Player Protection

Australian gambling law has an important distinction between land-based venues and internet services. Licensed pokies are familiar in clubs and hotels in cities such as Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth, while online casino games aimed at Australians are affected by the Interactive Gambling Act 2001. The Australian Communications and Media Authority can take action against prohibited offshore services, but enforcement does not make every overseas website safe or recoverable.

Players in Australia should verify age requirements, operator identity, payment rules, and access conditions before entering any account details. State and territory arrangements can differ, and a website accessible from Melbourne or Hobart is not automatically licensed to provide every type of gambling service under Australian law. The National Gambling Helpline can be reached on 1800 858 858 for confidential support.

Time-zone and payment details also matter locally. An offer expiring at an operator’s server time may close at a different hour during Australian daylight-saving periods, while bank cards and digital wallets can apply their own checks. Australians should never assume that an offshore casino carries the same consumer protections as a venue regulated within their state or territory.

Responsible Play Basics

  • Set a fixed entertainment budget in Australian dollars before playing.
  • Treat deposits as spent entertainment money, not a short-term income source.
  • Avoid chasing losses or increasing stakes after an unsuccessful session.
  • Use available deposit, time, and self-exclusion controls.
  • Stop and seek support if gambling begins affecting bills, work, sleep, or relationships.

Comparing Australian-Facing Options

The comparison below separates a game-focused review from casino brands and operators. It avoids treating brand visibility as proof of licensing or availability. Current access, payment methods, promotions, and legal status should be checked directly because online gambling conditions can change.

Brand What can be checked publicly Demo or game-review position Australian consideration
Wanted Dead Or A Wild Demo Au Dedicated review of Hacksaw Gaming’s Wanted Dead or a Wild Browser demo, specifications, bonus information, RTP and volatility discussion Confirm whether any linked real-money operator lawfully accepts Australian players
Joe Fortune Casino brand identity, current terms, and available games Check the live site for whether a demo or the featured title is available Verify Australian access, licensing information, payment rules, and withdrawal conditions
RocketPlay Casino brand identity and published promotional terms Game catalogue and demo availability should be checked at the time of use Confirm jurisdictional eligibility and whether Australian players are accepted
Fair Go Casino Casino brand identity, account terms, and responsible-gambling information Review the current catalogue for the title and any free-play option Check operator details, Australian restrictions, and bonus wagering requirements
Ozwin Casino Casino brand identity and current account and bonus conditions Confirm whether the game, demo mode, and relevant promotions are displayed Verify current access, payment protections, and applicable legal limitations

A comparison is most useful when it focuses on verifiable information rather than a headline bonus. Players should look for a named operator, clear terms, game rules, complaint procedures, and responsible-gambling controls. If those details are difficult to find, the promotion deserves extra caution.

Keeping Slot Entertainment In Perspective

A browser demo can be a sensible way to learn how Wanted Dead or a Wild behaves, especially for someone comparing bonus mechanics or deciding whether high volatility suits their preferred style. It also supports a more measured approach than signing up immediately after seeing a maximum-win figure or a free-spin banner.

For a charity website connected with literacy and youth education, the distinction between entertainment and social impact is especially important. A reading room, book drive, or music activity creates practical opportunities for children and young monks; a slot spin is a paid chance-based activity with no educational or charitable outcome unless a separate, clearly identified donation is made.

The strongest review experience is therefore transparent: use the demo to understand the game, read the full terms, confirm Australian legal and age requirements, and keep any play within a predetermined budget. What readers should remember is simple: a free demo can explain the slot, but it cannot remove volatility, guarantee winnings, or replace careful checks on Australian access and consumer protection.
