Attention: Volunteering Opportunites

Hello! I am receiving many inquiries into volunteering in Ladakh this year and thank you for writing to us!

At the moment we are busy planning and fundraising for some reading rooms in other areas of the Himalayan region. It looks like we’ll require some talented people with art and language skills September onwards.

So if you are interested, please email avalokitesvaratrust@avalokitesvaratrust.org with the subject: Volunteer 2016 and I shall send you a volunteer form if we are interested in taking it further. It’s difficult to reply to each individual, so please understand that we shall be in touch on a suitability and availability basis.

We also may require volunteers with a design or architectural background. More news on that soon.

Thank you!

P.S. The best and preferred way to be in touch is via email

LITTLE BUDDHAS IN THE WOODS

Little Buddhas in the woods

Little Buddhas in the woods

On a magical sunny day, in the month of August (2015), we decided to spend a day with the young monks of  the Chemdey Monastery in the village of Sakti. Our friends, artist, Abhishek Singh, musician and drum-jammer Kumi Masunaga and her lovely daughter Aya, came with us to share their talents, their skills and to spread joy! We were also accompanied by my little daughter Samira, my husband, our Ladakhi friends and Sushil, a Mumbai-based photographer who captured some glorious moments!

The young monks from Chemdey Gonpa school participated in ice-breaking musical activities that Kumi had designed for them. Abhishek introduced them to a few art activities, took them through the process of creating their group artwork and showed them stunning visuals from his comic book. Aya demonstrated how to ‘hula-hoop’! We also set up a book corner in the school.

The young monks were keen to learn and listened carefully to the process, enjoyed drawing and colouring, asked questions and at the end, proudly exhibited their artwork in the woods!

Kumi is a Japanese percussionist and a drum circle facilitator who lives in Hong Kong with over fifteen years of performing, teaching, and facilitating experience. She has worked with a range of ages and cultural backgrounds, designing, planning and executing programmes. For more- www.drum-jam.com

Aya is natural performer. She sings, dances and has lead her “Circle Game” playshop for groups of children at events. She has acted in youth musicals, theatre play and some TV commercials in Hong Kong. She speaks English, Japanese and basic Cantonese and Mandarin. Here engagement with the children we visited, has been both endearing very valuable!

Abhishek Singh is artist, animation film-maker and graphic novelist who currently lives between his studios in Brooklyn, New York and Mumbai. Whenever possible he retreats for a meditation trek in the Himalayas. For more – www.abhishekartstore.com

Avalokitesvara Trust creates reading rooms for children so for International Book Giving Day , we decided to start a book-collection drive. We received an incredible response from all over India. Books were carefully chosen, ordered and shipped to Dharamsala for the young readers of Norling Creche & Kindergarten. We are happy to have enhanced their little library with good quality books. To have played a role in encouraging the joy of reading and bringing smiles to their faces!

We got together to open packages of delightful books and celebrate International Book Giving Day at the Norling creche and kindergarten. A group of 15 volunteers, aged 8 to 10 years were very eager to create a new library upstairs. They happily carried all the old books and categorised them into small, medium and large books. We had a little contest to see which group ( red, green, yellow, blue, white colours of the prayer flags) could count the most books in the least time. It was chao tic and so much fun!! And they finished counting the books in 9 minutes (they’d decided on 15 minutes as the target) After this exercise, they realised that their existing books needed to be categorised into levels and broader subjects. So we created colour codes for levels of reading, for Tibetan, science and for teacher reading material. After four hours of activity we finally displayed all the new additions on to the empty shelves.

The next day, we played a few games. An improvisation of ‘Simon says’, became ‘Norbu says, Sangmo says..’ and the library room was filled with laughter! To calm everyone down, we sat in a circle and concentrated on our breathing. This wasn’t any easy task as a few of them were curious to know what was to follow but we managed to bring back our focus and recollect the activities of the previous session and the task at hand. Setting up a library is no small job and the children once again, tidied up the piles of old books. After all this work, they had a tea break and then finally, chose a book each and sat in a corner or lay on their tummies to immerse themselves in their new book collection. It was very satisfying to see them enjoying the books with quiet rapture. We added a few finishing touches and called it a day by taking a group of books for the little ones downstairs to create a small toddler library. Now that we’re ready, we’ll be inviting ALL the children from ALL the classes to their new reading rooms. We can’t wait!!

Geisha pokies online Australia: a practical Lucky Elf guide

Searches for geisha pokies online Australia often point to themed casino games featuring Japanese-inspired artwork, symbols, music, and bonus features. The phrase can describe a particular slot title, a group of Asian-themed pokies, or simply a search for offshore casino sites available to Australian visitors. That distinction matters because game availability, ownership, and legal status can vary between websites.

This guide reviews Lucky Elf Casino as an information source for Australian adults researching online casino games. It considers the reported game selection, promotional offers, payment methods, mobile access, and licensing information, while keeping the Interactive Gambling Act and responsible gambling obligations in view. Any player should verify current conditions before opening an account or depositing funds.

What the search term usually means

A geisha-themed pokie commonly uses visual references such as fans, blossoms, lanterns, masks, or traditional clothing. These features are presentation choices rather than evidence that a game is authentic to a particular culture. The underlying format is usually familiar: reels, paylines or ways to win, wild symbols, scatters, and a random number generator.

Australian players may also use the search term when looking for online pokies with an Asian theme, free-play demonstrations, or games available through an offshore casino. A search result does not establish that a title is licensed for Australian use. It is worth checking the exact game name, software provider, return-to-player information, and rules shown on the casino page.

The attraction of these games is often visual variety, but the fundamentals remain the same as any other slot. Outcomes are random, previous spins do not influence future results, and a bonus feature does not change the house edge into a guaranteed profit. Treating a themed pokie as entertainment helps keep expectations realistic.

What Lucky Elf Casino offers Australian visitors

Lucky Elf Casino is presented through review material covering its catalogue, bonuses, banking options, licensing claims, and mobile experience. The reported selection includes online slots and casino-style games, with the exact lobby subject to change according to software partnerships, regional restrictions, and website updates. Readers comparing providers can use lucky elf casino 3 as a starting point for checking the current information.

A useful review should distinguish between an operator’s own statements and independently verifiable facts. Claims about a licence, regulator, game fairness, or security should be checked against the relevant regulator or licensing register. The presence of a licence badge on a website is not, by itself, proof that the licence is current or that Australian consumer protections apply.

Promotional terms deserve the same care. A welcome offer may include wagering requirements, maximum cash-out limits, excluded games, minimum deposits, expiry dates, and identity checks. A large headline bonus can be less valuable than a smaller promotion with clear conditions, so readers should inspect the full terms before accepting any offer.

Games, bonuses, and mobile play

For people comparing geisha pokies online Australia with broader casino options, the game lobby is only one part of the decision. Look for the software provider, volatility information, bet limits, demo availability, and the stated return-to-player percentage. A higher advertised return does not guarantee a result during a short session, but transparent information makes comparison easier.

The casino may also list table games, live dealer products, jackpots, or instant-win titles alongside slots. Each category has different rules and risk patterns. Live games can involve faster decisions, while progressive jackpots may carry lower regular returns in exchange for the possibility of a larger prize. Understanding the format is more useful than selecting a site based only on its theme.

Mobile access is another practical consideration. A browser-based site should load clearly on a phone, display game rules without excessive scrolling, and provide secure account controls. Before using a mobile casino, check whether the same bonus terms apply on mobile, whether withdrawals can be requested from the device, and whether two-factor authentication or other account protections are available.

Feature What to check Why it matters
Themed pokies Game title, provider, rules, and RTP Confirms what is actually being offered
Bonuses Wagering, expiry, exclusions, and cash-out limits Shows the real conditions behind the headline
Mobile access Browser performance and account controls Helps avoid unclear or inaccessible play
Payments Deposit speed, withdrawal rules, and fees Affects convenience and access to winnings
Licensing Regulator, licence number, and territory Indicates which protections may apply

Payments, PayID, and cryptocurrency

Payment flexibility is often a major part of Australian casino reviews. Lucky Elf’s information is reported to include options such as PayID and cryptocurrency, alongside other methods that may vary by account, currency, and location. PayID can be convenient for eligible bank users, but a fast deposit does not guarantee a fast withdrawal.

Cryptocurrency introduces additional considerations. Prices can move between the time of deposit and withdrawal, network fees may apply, and transactions are generally difficult to reverse. Users should check whether the casino accepts a particular coin, how wallet addresses are verified, whether conversion fees are charged, and what documentation is required before funds can be released.

Withdrawal policies should be read before depositing. Important details include minimum and maximum amounts, processing times, identity verification, source-of-funds checks, and whether a payment method must first be used for withdrawals. Never send money to a personal wallet or bank account supplied through an unverified message claiming to represent a casino.

A careful banking checklist includes:

  • Confirm the payment provider and account name before transferring funds.
  • Read minimum deposit and withdrawal amounts in Australian dollars.
  • Check whether fees, exchange costs, or blockchain charges apply.
  • Find out when identity verification can delay a withdrawal.
  • Keep receipts, transaction IDs, and relevant support messages.

Australian legality and player safeguards

Australia’s Interactive Gambling Act restricts the provision of certain online gambling services to people in Australia. Offshore operators may still appear in search results or accept Australian visitors, but that does not mean the service is authorised under Australian law. The legal position can depend on the product, operator, location, and current enforcement environment.

For that reason, licensing claims should be verified independently rather than accepted from promotional copy. A licence issued overseas may impose standards in its own jurisdiction while offering limited routes for Australian customers to resolve disputes. An Australian consumer should also consider whether local self-exclusion tools, complaint pathways, and responsible gambling protections apply.

Age restrictions are essential: gambling services are intended for adults, and operators may request identity documents to confirm age and location. It is sensible to set a spending limit before playing, avoid borrowed money, and stop if gambling begins to affect bills, study, work, sleep, or relationships. Free-play modes can help someone understand a game without risking funds, although they do not reproduce every emotional effect of real-money play.

Warning signs deserve attention before registration:

  • The site hides ownership, licensing, or contact details.
  • Bonus conditions are difficult to find or written ambiguously.
  • Support staff pressure users to deposit or chase losses.
  • Withdrawal requests are repeatedly delayed without a clear reason.
  • The website asks for unusual payments or documents through informal channels.

A responsible way to evaluate an offshore casino

A review page should help readers make informed comparisons rather than encourage hurried deposits. That is especially important for audiences who may encounter search terms such as geisha pokies online Australia through adverts, affiliate pages, or social media promotions. Check independent sources, confirm the current domain, and avoid assuming that a polished design represents strong consumer protection.

Digital literacy also means recognising the difference between educational information and financial advice. A casino review can summarise reported features, but it cannot confirm that every claim remains accurate after a site changes its operator, software, terms, or regulatory status. Screenshots and promotional descriptions can become outdated quickly.

Community organisations that support learning and access to reliable information also have a role in promoting careful online habits. The Avalokiteśvara Trust focuses on books, reading rooms, and educational activities for children and young monks in Himalayan communities; that mission highlights why clear, accessible information matters across digital environments.

Before proceeding, compare these practical points:

  • Verify the operator’s current name, licence, and jurisdiction.
  • Read the complete bonus and withdrawal terms.
  • Use only a payment method you understand and control.
  • Set a fixed entertainment budget and session limit.
  • Locate responsible gambling support before creating an account.

The most sensible next step is to open the operator’s current terms and licensing page, cross-check its details with the relevant regulator, and only then decide whether further research is warranted.
