The Nomadic Residential School in Puga, Changthang, is an abode for 116 adorable children from the nomadic Kharnakpa community. As the tribe travelled, the childrens’ schools and teachers used to travel with them, until this permanent school was established. These children are ever-smiling and extremely charming. They never fail to greet you as you pass them by in the school corridors. The etiquette can be credited to a wonderful and dedicated staff run by the headmaster. We spent a couple of days with the staff and children and shall be returning soon! Here you may see some images, right from our journey to Puga, to greeting the students, dismantling and carrying the furniture, to setting up the reading room, to workshops conducted, to photographic memories.
